Adrian Sampetrean


 Adrian SampetreanAdrian Sâmpetrean was born 1983 in Cluj-Napoca (Romania) and finished his vocal studies at the „Gheorghe Dima“ Music Academy of his home town (Professor M. Sâmpetrean).

He is winner of various singing competitions (International Singing Competition „Hariclea Darclée“, International Singing Competition „Eugenia Moldoveanu“, etc.).

The artist gives his stage debut at the Romanian National Opera Cluj-Napoca as ‚Colline‘ / „La Bohème“, followed by appearances as ‚Raimondo‘ / „Lucia di Lammermoor“.

During the 2007-08 season he was a member of the Young Artists Project at the Bavarian State Opera Munich.

He could be heard in the 2008-09 season in “Der Vampyr” at the Teatro Comunale Bologna, in “The Queen of Spades” at the Opéra de Monte Carlo and in “Lucia di Lammermoor” at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein Düsseldorf.

Starting with the 2009-10 season he became a member of the Deutsche Opera am Rhein Düsseldof (‘Sparafucile’ / “Rigoletto”, ‘Oroveso’ / “Norma”, ‘Angelotti’ / “Tosca”, ‘Colline’ / “La Bohème”, ‘Raimondo’ / “Lucia di Lammermoor”).

2011 he gave his debut as ‘Leporello’ / “Don Giovanni” at the Salzburg Festival and appeared in the same role in 2012 at the Bolshoi Theatre Moscow, in the frame of a tour of the Teatro Scala di Milano and in 2013 at the Staatsoper Berlin under the baton of D. Barenboim.

In the seasons 2011-2013 Adrian Sâmpetrean was member of the Hamburg State Opera (‘Alidoro’ / “La Cenerentola”, ‘Don Basilio’ / “Il barbiere di Siviglia”, ‘Leporello’ / “Don Giovanni”, ‘Banco’ / “Macbeth”, ‘Raimondo’ / “Lucia di Lammermoor” and continues his collaboration with the Deutsche Oper am Rhein Düsseldorf (“La Bohème”, “Il barbiere di Siviglia”).

In the years after his appearances include: Opéra de Paris as ‚Alidoro‘ / „La Cenerentola“ and as ‚Leporello‘ / „Don Giovanni“, Scala di Milano as ‚Banco‘ / „Macbeth“ and in the title role in „Oberto“, Arena di Verona as ‚Ramfis‘ / „Aida“, Teatro Massimo Palermo as ‚Don Basilio‘ / „Il barbiere di Siviglia“, Staatsoper Berlin and Salzburg Festival as ‚Ferrando‘ / „Il Trovatore“, Opéra de Monte Carlo as ‚Dulcamara‘ / „L’elisir d’amore“ and ‚Leporello‘ / „Don Giovanni“, Hamburg State Opera as ‚Alfonso d’Este‘ / „Lucrezia Borgia“, Festival Festspielen Aix-en-Provence as ‚Selim‘ / „Il turco in Italia“, Opéra de Bordeaux as ‚Filippo II‘ / „Don Carlo“, Deutsche Oper am Rhein Düsseldorf as ‚Ramfis‘ / „Aida“ and as ‚Filipo II‘ / „Don Carlo“ (NP), Netherlands Opera Amsterdam as ‘Leporello’ / “Don Giovanni”, Lyric Opera of Chicago as ‘Raimondo’ / “Lucia di Lammermoor”.
